BIXI was a finalist for Prix québécois de l’entreprise citoyenne. This Award honours sound management initiatives that respect employees, clients, suppliers and the general public, along with respect for the environment.

TAC 2009 Sustainable Urban Transportation Award

This award is won by the City of Montreal, thanks to BIXI and cycling paths. This award aims to promote sustainable urban transport, encouraging the creation of cities not onlymore efficient and user-friendly in terms of the environment, but also the establishment of urban areas where residents will enjoy a better quality of life.

Prix Environnement (AQTR)

Environmental award in the 3rd Annual Gala des grands prix d’excellence en transport de l’Association québécoise du transport et des routes (AQTR). BIXI wins the Environmental Award. This recognition was awarded for two Montreal initiatives: Sustainable development in Montreal with BIXI’s deployment and the installation of 50 km of new cycling paths.

Public Bike System Company (PBSC) won two awards from PMI-Montreal, a globally-recognized organization that rewards excellence in project management. PBSC, supported by the City of Montreal for its BIXI project, won the 2010 PMI-Montreal Project of the Year Award, and a second award for 2010 Project of the Year in the Emerging Sectors category.

2010 GOOD DESIGN® Awards -Environment Category

The BIXI bike design, the work of Michel Dallaire, internationally renowned industrial designer, recently won at the prestigious 2010 GOOD DESIGN® Awards - in the Environment Category, presented by the Athenaeum. The GOOD DESIGN® Awards of the Chicago Athenaeum, international museum of architecture and design, each year honour designers and influential enterprises from all over the world for excellence and innovation in the development of industrial and graphic designs and products.
